Verification

Creator verification that protects you, your fans and your payouts

Creator verification on FanBase means a government ID and a selfie that confirm you are a real person aged 18 or older. It is required before your first payout and before anything is published in the adult section, and your documents are never shown.

Verification

Approved
  • Government ID checked
  • Selfie matches the ID
  • Age 18 or over confirmed
  • Profile reviewed by a person
  • Uploads compared with known illegal material lists

Creator verification on FanBase checks that you are a real person aged 18 or older, using a government ID and a selfie. You complete it before your first payout and before anything goes into the adult section. Your documents are used only for verification and are never shown on your page.

Verification is a short step, but it does a lot of work. It makes sure payouts reach the right person, it keeps minors off the creator side of the platform, and it lets fans trust that the person behind a page is real.

When verification is required

Before your first payout

You can create your page, set up tiers and start posting before you verify. To withdraw money, you need to complete verification. This way nobody can collect earnings from an account they do not own. See how payouts work after verification.

Before anything in the adult section

Adult creators verify before publishing anything in the Adult 18+ section. No adult content goes live from an unverified account, without exception. More about that section is on FanBase for adult creators.

Co-performers in adult content

Anyone else who appears in adult content needs ID and consent on file before that content can be published. This applies to every post, message and upload that includes another person. Content without these records is not published. The records rules are described in our 2257 compliance statement.

How to verify, step by step

  1. Open verification in your settings. You can start any time after creating your page.
  2. Photograph your ID. Use a valid government ID. Make sure all four corners are visible and the text is sharp.
  3. Take a selfie. Follow the on screen guide. Good light and a plain background help.
  4. Wait for the result. You are notified when the check is complete.
  5. Add your payout method. Choose a bank account or a crypto wallet.

Tips for a smooth check

  • Use an ID that has not expired.
  • Avoid glare from lamps or windows on the ID.
  • Remove sunglasses and hats for the selfie.
  • Make sure the name on your payout account matches your verified identity where your bank requires it.

How we handle your data

Your documents are used only to verify your identity and age. They are never shown on your page, never shared with fans and never used for marketing. Your public page shows only the name, handle and photos you choose. Read more in our privacy policy.

Why verification helps you earn

  • Fans trust verified creators. Knowing a page belongs to a real, verified person makes the first payment easier.
  • Your payouts are protected. Money only goes to the verified owner.
  • The platform stays open. Strong checks keep FanBase in good standing with banks and payment partners, which keeps payouts flowing for everyone.
  • Impersonation is harder. Someone copying your content cannot easily open a paying page under your name.

Verification is part of a wider safety system

Verification works together with other checks. Every post is reviewed before it goes public, every upload is checked against lists of known illegal material, and every profile and post has a report button. You can read the full picture on our safety page.

Agencies and teams

If an agency manages your page, you still complete verification yourself. The agency cannot verify on your behalf, and payouts follow your verified identity and the agreement you have with the agency. See FanBase for agencies.

What verification does not do

Verification confirms who you are and that you are an adult. It does not limit what mainstream content you can post, it does not make your legal name public, and it does not give fans any way to contact you outside FanBase. It is also not a one time pass for breaking the rules: every post is still reviewed before it goes public, and reports are still acted on. Think of verification as the foundation that lets the rest of the safety system, and your payouts, work properly.

Questions

If something goes wrong or you are unsure what to upload, write to support@fanbase.org with your page handle. Please do not send ID documents by email. Use the verification flow in your settings.

Verification for different kinds of creators

The check is the same for everyone, but it matters in different ways.

  • Mainstream creators (musicians, coaches, chefs, gamers, podcasters, artists, educators, lifestyle creators) verify before their first payout. You can build your page and post first, then verify when you are ready to withdraw.
  • Adult creators verify before anything is published in the Adult 18+ section, and every co-performer needs ID and consent on file.
  • Creators managed by an agency verify themselves, and payouts follow the verified identity.

How long it takes

Most creators complete the steps in a few minutes. Taking clear photos the first time is the best way to avoid a second attempt.

Keeping your details current

If your legal name changes or your ID expires, update your verification in your settings so payouts continue without interruption.

Ready to start

Create your page, set your tiers and verify when you are ready to get paid. You can preview your page and projected monthly payout at 80 percent on the homepage first, with no account needed.
