A course creator membership on FanBase is a monthly subscription students pay for new lessons, worksheets and direct answers from you. You set up to three tiers between $4.99 and $49.99, sell complete courses once as pay per view, answer questions with paid messages and keep 80 percent of every payment.

A one time course pays once. A membership pays every month for as long as students keep learning with you, and it gives you a reason to keep adding lessons instead of re-launching the same course.

What educators sell on FanBase

Students pay for progress and for access to a real teacher. Each post can be public, members only, locked to a tier, or pay per view.

  • Weekly lessons. Short video or audio lessons, scheduled on the same day each week.
  • Worksheets and exercises. Printable practice sheets with answer keys for higher tiers.
  • Full courses. A structured set of lessons sold once as pay per view.
  • Live session recordings. Workshops and study sessions posted for members afterwards.
  • Q and A replies. Students send a question, you reply with a paid message that holds a short video.
  • Reading lists and notes. Summaries, cheat sheets and study plans.
  • Exam prep packs. Practice tests and walkthroughs before a test date.

Educators on FanBase teach languages, music theory, coding, math, test prep, design, finance basics and much more. If you can teach it on video, audio or in writing, it fits.

A worked earnings example

These figures are a hypothetical example to show how the 80 percent share works. They are not results from a real teacher.

Income source Example activity Students pay You keep (80 percent)
Learner tier 140 members at $8 $1,120 $896
Practice tier 50 members at $18 $900 $720
Mentored tier 10 members at $45 $450 $360

Say 200 students pay each month and a few more buy your course outright. Try your own numbers with the calculator on the FanBase homepage and see the full fee breakdown on the fees page.

FanBase versus a classic course platform

Course platforms usually charge a monthly plan whether you sell or not, and they are built around a single launch. FanBase is free to join, earns only through the 20 percent fee, and is built around ongoing teaching.

The membership platform page explains tiers and bundles in more detail, and the creator monetization platform guide shows how single sales and memberships work together.

Launching your teaching membership

  1. Name the outcome. "Conversational Spanish in 6 months" sells better than "Spanish lessons".
  2. Post a free first lesson. Let students see your teaching style before they pay.
  3. Set a fixed day. New lessons every Tuesday builds a habit.
  4. Offer a term bundle. A 6 month bundle fits how long real progress takes.
  5. Answer every early question. Personal replies are what keep students subscribed.

Schools and teams

Tutoring teams and small schools can run several teachers from one team account. Each teacher has their own page, and payout reports per creator come as CSV. Read more on the agencies page.

Payments clear 7 days after each one is made. Once your cleared balance reaches $50, you can withdraw, and payouts go out weekly to a bank account or crypto wallet. See the payouts page for details.

Start your teaching page

Joining is free. Pick a handle, add a cover image, write a short bio, set your tiers and schedule your first month of lessons. Students pay by card or crypto, can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. You keep 80 percent.

Questions and answers

What is a course creator membership?

It is a monthly subscription students pay for ongoing lessons and support, instead of a one time course alone. On FanBase you can run both: tiers for ongoing learning and pay per view for full courses.

Can I sell a full course on FanBase?

Yes. Post a course module or bundle as pay per view with one price, or include it in a tier so members get it as part of the subscription.

Can students ask me questions?

Yes. Fans can message creators they support, and you can answer with paid messages that hold a locked video explanation or worksheet.

What does it cost?

Joining is free. FanBase keeps 20 percent of each payment and you keep 80 percent. There is no monthly plan for creators.

Can a school or team run several teachers?

Yes. A team account manages several creators, with payout reports per creator as CSV and the same 20 percent fee.
